About the title:
Launched in 2021, the “book length” journal’s pages arrive uncut. Turn them to read, but cut them to open a second layer to find shorter essays, asides, the occasional language game, and bursts of color. Rip it to read it. (Online, paratexts beckon to you from the margin.)
They are committed to the book form (old-fashioned and newfangled) and to the broad sweep of language. Their goal is to thicken the thin skin of culture to publish many kinds of writing: fiction, travelogue, provocation, poetry, come what may. “Allergic to opinion,” they champion the essay, an avenue to the arcane, the profane, the grand.
