About this product:
Founded in Brooklyn, New York, Postalco has now been based in Tokyo for 20 years. They have a passion for everyday objects and are dedicated to finding new ways to apply Japanese craft in daily life. Usually a new product will begin with a question. They ask questions like: Why can a fish open its mouth so widely? Why is it hard to move in a rain jacket? They support craftspeople, suppliers, and small workshops making things ecologically, not to be found anywhere else. Wood comes from managed forests in Hokkaido. Leather is vegetable tanned. Washi paper is hand screened with renewable Kozo fibers, and any remaining pulp is reused. Photographed by Yukio Shimizu, the Encyclopedia Postcards come in sets of 7 cards in 6 categories: Seashells, Minerals, Grapes, Butterflies, Apples, and Insects.
